FAREWELL!!!

WEll we are now at the end! I have mixed emotions about it, I am glad that finals are over and there is a nice break before it starts all over again. Though on the other hand I have met a lot of amazing people this semester in my classes. I do hope that our friendships will continue though it is so much easier to keep in touch with one another when you see each other a few times on a weekly basis! Well I wil start my pre-sequence this spring and I'm extremely excited about that. I will be with a group of individuals, some I know and some I will be meeting for the first time. Though this group is going to be an extra ordinary group considering we will all spend the next three semesters together through the good and bad but hey we will be there together to help and encourage one another! Hope you guys have an amazing holiday be careful and safe! I hope to see y'all around and don't be a stranger say "HEY!"

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope that everyone had an amazing Turkey day. As for me it was great though I still feel stuffed from all the food. It was great to have a short break from classes and school work, though now its payback for the holiday with exams coming our way. Well both my sisters that are off at college were able to come home for the holiday and that was great being able to visit with them both. Hope all is well and good luck with the next few weeks!

Technology in Education

In two years I will have my own classroom. Technology has made the world of teaching easier but most of all more fun. I am excited about all of the new ways of teaching by using technology. For a child they are automatically attracted my visual. By using powerpoint, this is useful for the visual and auditory learners. By using Excel to setup a gradebook, is a quicker and easier way to calculate the students grades. There are so many positive things about technology used in the classroom, for instance less paper involved which saves space and organization. I plan to use the technology that has been provided to the teachers as main usage for classroom management and instructing the students in learning the material studied.

Question on teaching!!

Well I have been thinking alot lately on teacher candidacy. I understand the point of pre-sequence and sequence to help prepare us more on being an effective teacher. Though what I don't understand is why none of the other Universities locally do pre-sequence and sequence? It seems to take longer to graduate and it's already impossible to work while student teaching and now as well for pre-sequence & sequence. Pre-sequence you are at South two days a week from 8am-2pm and in a elementary school two of the other days from 7am-2pm, fridays off but your doing homework during that time. I just find it harder to manage financially and time management by having those two extra semesters.
